<x-flowed>>Has anyone had experience using a DR2424 to run a 1/2 hp 120vac sewer pump.

John,

The DR2424 should have no problem running 1/2 HP pump. At the instant
of startup, it will use no about 1/2 to 3/4 of the inverter's surge
capacity which will cause a quick dip in the voltage, but by our
gathered experience, it should work fine unless other big loads are
on, for example a conventional washing machine. The starting surge
voltage dip may cause a computer in the home to crash, especially if
the battery voltage is low. These things are not fully predictable,
but I would bet my dinner that the pump would start and run fine
however with a bit more power draw than from sine wave power.

An alternative may be to use a 24V marine bilge pump if you need a
submersible, or one of our Solar Centrifugal pumps if you don't need
submersion. However, if running is short duration then energy use is
not a big issue and you may find it most cost-effective to go AC.
