</o:shapelayout></xml><![endif]--></head><body lang=EN-US link="#0563C1" vlink="#954F72" style='word-wrap:break-word'><div class=WordSection1><p class=MsoNormal>A new inspector asked a new question.<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>From my studies tonight it looks like UL9540A is not a listing but a test standard and in fact UL has a database of batteries that have been test to the A standard which according to UL can allow (with AHJ approval) less than 3-feet separation between batteries.<br><br>The database not the easiest and LG is in there but cannot ascertain if for the Prime 16 so thought I’d share what I’ve learned and ask if others run across same.<br><br>The IRC 328 section requires UL9540. But it also requires 3-feet unless tested in fire conditions for battery to battery inducement of thermal runaway.
