I just checked my stock of control boards and just happen to have a new unopened in the box that is firmware #68, same as the new used inverter I installed. I guess to be sure Outback wont have any other suggestions, I will install the new board. I charged the customer enough for the used inverter to cover a control board. First I will set the newer one as Master and his older one as slave to see if it makes any difference. In the description of the stacking configurations, There was no mention of Hub requirements. I assume with these older inverters the older Hub should be fine. We ran lots of inverters at SolarFest with the old equipment. I know we are not supposed to promote things on this list but SolarFest in Vermont will be in Brandon July 16-17. John,
I've never faced your situation so can't address it directly.
However, I don't think matching firmware requires replacing a
control board. Can't you just update the firmware to the latest for
that legacy product using a Mate3?
The firware for these should be available at

Wrenches, I just added a 2nd VFX3648 stacked as SLAVE L1 to
increase charging of his new eVault 18.5 from 12kw Kohler gen. It
connects to the generator but doesn\u2019t charge. I read in the
manual that both inverters must be the same firmware revision.
Once hooked up I found that the added inverter was rev #68 and the
original one rev 61. Would it be possible to switch which
inverter is the master and have the newer one recognize the older
one.? Otherwise is my only option to put a new control board in
the original inverter? And possibly also in the new one. Anyone
know what the latest rev or last one was?
