I often wrap the head in masking tape to protect the roofing finish when torquing S-5 clamps due to the limited distance you end up with to the finish roof material especially if the standing seam is tilted at an acute angle on set screw side. I use the same wrench for the Ironridge clamps. Also, surely you\u2019re specific to which clamp you\u2019re selecting but there\u2019s definitely a few clamps that are more universal than others and when the roof profile allows I always select the S-5-N over some of the others. That little return profile hook is key to a successful bite without trying to walk up as it tightens. I see it has also been improved again with an angled set screw to eliminate the tilted seam headache I spoke about above.
