<div dir="ltr"><div>Hello Dave,</div><div><br></div><div>As far as I know, setting up an inverter for zero export will *always* require installation of current transformers (CTs), and those CTs must be connected to some sort of power meter, which in turn must be connected to some sort of control device. Whether the power meter and/or control device are built-in or external varies by manufacturer. See attached diagrams for several examples by popular manufacturers:</div><div><ul><li>Sol-Ark: both power meter and control device appear* to be built-in</li><ul><li>* I have never actually worked with Sol-Ark equipment, so someone please correct if this is not the case.</li></ul><li>SolarEdge: control device is built-in, power meter is external</li><li>SMA: both power meter and control device are external</li></ul></div><div>You'll note the presence of CTs in each diagram. <p>I do not see much grid-tie and never with a battery less inverter. I have a client who wants me to explore zero export for them. I have looked at <a href="http://www.elgrispower.com/" target="_blank">http://www.elgrispower.com/</a></p>
<p>Is there such a thing in a medium size 6 KW Grid inverter built-in that can zero export? Or, Do I have to externally wire power meters ect? </p>
