<p class="MsoNormal">Scot \u2013 As stated in the article (from July 2019) that Jeremy linked to, this recall was to correct an issue with the TS4-R-F units to ensure compliance with SunSpec standard. Luckily the issue was caught right at product launch. Much of
the stock was able to be intercepted at our warehouses and the issue rectified before customer delivery.

<p class="MsoNormal">All stock of this SMA TS4-R-F device has been sold. SMA now maintains an \u201cSMA compatible\u201d SunSpec certified rapid shutdown receiver list \u2013 these are the only approved devices for use with SMA America residential and commercial inverters
if using SunSpec for rapid shutdown compliance. <o:p></o:p></p>

<p class="MsoNormal">The other two devices on the above list (besides the SMA TS4-R-F-42) are commercially available and have been tested by SMA to ensure the SunSpec shutdown functionality does not interfere with any other operational or safety function of
either the Sunny Boy US-41 or CORE1 US-41 inverter lines. Both of these inverter families have a SunSpec certified rapid shutdown transmitter built into them, allowing straightforward code compliance with an easy install while providing a reliable system.<o:p></o:p></p>

<p class="MsoNormal">And related to the original inquiry, SMA did remove the module level devices as part of the Sunny Design program as a streamlining of the design steps.<o:p></o:p></p>
