<p>Since the Tesla panels (panasonic origin) are being sold on the secondary market, in all kinds of shape physically, they should be avoided if you care about warranty.</p>
<p>The Panasonic panels are excellent and I use them alot for Offgrid with the 100A/600v mppt from Schneider. The Tesla were 1/3 the price and good for a secondary array. Just buy extra used panels. Some of the ones I saw from Tesla had boot prints on the back <img title="Frown" src="cid:smiley-frown.gif@sti.net" alt="Frown" border="0" /></p>

We've had an absolutely terrible experience with Tesla Solar's customer service following severe technical problems with their solar panels. Specifically, the white backing sheets of our 40 modules are bubbling up and delaminating, causing destruction of the individual cells and of course production to fall to almost nothing. Obviously a critical manufacturing flaw. Tesla even admits responsibility under the warranty terms, but is unwilling to replace the panels or offer fair replacement value. <!-- o ignored --></span></div>

They are unwilling to issue me a normal 'Case Number' for my claim, which means that each time I call them, I have to explain the entire issue to a new customer service representative, because there is no case history for them to access. After a half hour or more (often much more) on hold they finally refer my call to a supervisor, who again has no case reference, so I have to explain the situation again! Then they typically tell me that the person I need to speak to is not available. But they will not tell me the name or provide the e:mail of that person I need to speak to, nor will they agree to create a standard Case Number for my issue. So very frustrating!! They have wrapped themselves in a kind of bureaucratic teflon......they just don't want to take responsibility for these faulty solar panels.<!-- o ignored --></span></div>

If you ever have a claim or complaint, you will be ignored, or stuck in their 'Groundhog Day' style bureaucracy designed to endlessly frustrate you! Unlike WalMart (who reached an undisclosed settlement with Tela Solar) I don't have a team of lawyers to dedicate to holding Tesla accountable for their warranty obligations.
