<p>About 2015 I bought some Suniva poly's that had the cracks. I talked with an Engineer at Suniva who told me this would not affect output. I told him that every panel I install is on the ground and would not use these again because it is so visible when mounted on a ground mount. He said he was sorry to hear that and did take them back.</p>
<p>Totally unacceptable to me no matter what the output is. If it went up by 30% with cracks, it would still scare me on longevity.</p>

<div dir="ltr">Interesting. We have a small commercial site installed in 2014 with Suniva MVX255-60-5-7B1 modules exhibiting a similar if not the same issue. See attached photos. My understanding is that the MVX series modules were possibly manufactured on a separate line than the OPT series that Carl shared and of course are polycrystalline rather than mono - in other words, totally different cells. I don't know if they shared the same encapsulant assembly materials and procedure.

<div>Our site has 70 of these modules, and our technician estimated the 90% of them were showing these issues. Production still seems fine, although we don't have online monitoring so we can't tell if it's been training off or not.</div>
