<p>I have a macerator in my basement, I just measured it, and I was
hitting roughly 1100 watts peak for 1 sec. I don't know what the
Hp rating is, but its 120 vac, so I'm guessing 1/2 Hp. Do they
have to have 2 Hp? That seems over kill. The one we have does a
great job on a toilet, shower, and 2 sinks. <br>

Schneider SW for a client with a moderate cabin lifestyle.<br>

But he lives on a high hill and even though his 2 HP Macerator is
only rated at 15 amps continuous that baby starts up with a
whopping kick - probably close to or at it's 53 Amps Locked Rotor
rating.<br>
