<div dir="ltr">Hello, Gary &amp; All~<div><br></div><div>Cybo Energy is one of those rare companies where one can actually speak with the top guy. George Cheng, PhD, is their resident genius &amp; communications with him are prompt &amp; pleasant. I really appreciate that top level access.<div><br></div><div>+1 to Cybo for innovation--they keep boldly taking their Cybo micro inverter line into new territory &amp; carrying the UL listing with them. Running motorized loads on a &quot;sun direct&quot; basis always seemed a bit of a stretch because of pesky things like motor startup surge &amp; inductive loading...so my only experience has been with their water heating type inverters where the resistive load always has a power factor of one. </div><div><br></div><div>-1 to Cybo for not having a crazy long warranty to match other micro inverters, but Dr. Cheng is persuaded that would put them in a high risk situation. He&#39;s probably right about that because--hey--25 years is a long time. Around 2013, I was an early adopter on their water heating inverter. I mounted it indoors so there would be no heat loading on the case &amp; I had to be very creative to contain the insulated wiring. I also was careful with ohm&#39;s law when choosing the resistive load (sending heat to an aquaculture tank) &amp; I vetted the load resistance with George. The unit failed...&amp; it seems like that was less than a year after initial power-up; George replaced it with their improved version but that also failed after a couple of years &amp; the company was not willing to stand for another replacement. </div><div><br></div><div>George told me that the unit had been re-designed again; to him that meant we should be happy to pay again because it&#39;s so much better. To me that meant the R &amp; D was being done on the customer&#39;s nickel &amp; my client declined to buy another one. I had paired it with four 60 cell LG Neons--around 330 watts each in that era. George told me that their early components were suffering due to the input DC voltage but he says now they&#39;re OK even for 72 cell modules. I have no other sales opportunities for it these daze, however, so someone else needs to try it &amp; report back to the list after a few years. </div><div><br></div><div>Telltale sign for the power pioneers: they&#39;re the ones with the arrows in their backs. On a brighter note: The Wrench List is the Bomb!</div><div><br clear="all"><div><div dir="ltr" class="gmail_signature" data-smartmail="gmail_signature"><div dir="ltr"><div>Mick Abraham, Proprietor<br><a href="http://www.abrahamsolar.com" target="_blank">www.abrahamsolar.com</a><br><br>Landline: 970-731-4675</div><div>Cell phone or for text messaging: 970-946-6584</div></div></div></div></div></div></div><div hspace="streak-pt-mark" style="max-height:1px"><img alt="" style="width:0px;max-height:0px;overflow:hidden" src="https://mailfoogae.appspot.com/t?sender=abWlja0BhYnJhaGFtc29sYXIuY29t&amp;type=zerocontent&amp;guid=d5370323-26d3-4d1b-b761-e37f7fc921ce"><font color="#ffffff" size="1">\u1427</font></div>
