Hi Will;

I understand that a UL factory assembly trumps any inspector
      concerns in the field, that's why I left those wires alone.
      However, no engineer designed that wire damage in. There is no
      need for it to be bent that tight, there is plenty of space. If
      they did require a tight bend, there are 90 deg lugs or insulated
      buss bars for that purpose. I'd have to say this is definitely a
      short coming of the UL inspection process.

If that work were done by my crew, I would have them replace all
      the damaged wire.

Here is another THHN wire that is completely mauled with plier
      marks to straighten it. The factory workers were getting obsessed
      with straight, instead of what's right.

The electrons don't care about looks, but will happily short
      through a bad spot in the insulation.

For comparison, here is the wiring in a Midnite E Panel, where
      they have the correct bends.

Greetings;

I've noticed several of the factory wired power panels
              over the years from Magnum, Outback, Midnite, Etc are not
              compliant with NEC 300.34 wire bending radius. (Radius
              should not be less than 8 times the diameter) Basically
              they should look like sweep bends in PVC conduit, not
              plumbing. Here's a pic from a recent Magnum system

You can see the kinks in the insulation on the inside of
              the bend, and the color fading on the outside from being
              overstretched. Some might think this is neat work, but
              its actually permanent wire damage and a code violation.
              Imagine the strain on the copper inside.

Midnite is very proactive and has improved, I ask that
              Magnum do the same and soon.
