<DIV style="font-family:Arial, sans-serif; font-size:10pt;"><DIV><BR>Thank goodness this was not my project, but I just received a call from a couple that had purchased an old farm house in a rural&nbsp;part of the state&nbsp;that was almost a mile from utility lines and never had power.&nbsp; They are renovating the old farmhouse and applied for all permits from county and have no problem with having inspections.&nbsp; However, the electrical permit was denied on the basis there was "no&nbsp;contineous source of power&nbsp;and this would not be classified as a weekend type cabin".&nbsp;&nbsp; Yes, I guess its possible a local county can make up their own rules, but I am not aware of any requirement in the NEC, and if there is a specific rule, I would think all they would need to do is provide information on their proposed generator/solar/battery/inverter system.</DIV>

<DIV>We have never had any problems like this in any other counties we have systems,&nbsp;but before I advise them on how to proceed I wanted to make&nbsp;sure&nbsp;that there were no&nbsp;specific code requirements other than&nbsp;the electrical inspection.</DIV>
