I'm not sure what the concern is about TC in the sun. It is labelled sunlight resistant because the most common application of the cable is in outdoor cable trays that are exposed to sun all day long in industrial applications. I have not seen the degradation of TC like I have seen of PVC conduit that is not treated with UV resistant paint.
I agree. I have not seen any problems with TC in the field and use it all the time. I would say that my suggestion was based on the "just in case lets overkill it" principle.
