Is there a reason you wouldn't want to split the 220v gen output between both inverters, eliminate the transformer losses, and sell the transformer to pay the January/Christmas Visa bill?

Subject: Step up/down transformer help needed [RE-wrenches]

I have an old 4000 watt T-former that Photron put out and it was installed with a Trace 4024 to provide 220volts for a well pump until I ended up stacking inverters. I now wish to use it  off the 220v out put from a Honda generator to do a step-down before it feeds a single inverter.
