I have the draft of  IEEE 929 standard if anyone wants it let me know and I will e-mail it to them as an attached file. It definitely touches on some of the weirdest possibilities.

Contact John Stevens at Sandia. As part of the IEEE 929 standard they
developed the "non islanding" inverter classification. The test for this
classification done by UL, is detailed and touches on the weirdest
possibilities.
