Unfortunately I doubt we will ever see that... Globally
we have the "biggest stick" which I guess allows us to do whatever we want
without worry, are "FREE" to be wasteful and excessive in our energy
consumption and associated pollution. I see it as self centered, isolationist
politics.
How I too would love to see way higher energy prices... I think that
will be the only way for people to bother noticing their use levels. Here in
the land of capatili$m, where the bean counters reign supreme, the bottom line
is generally short term profit/cost. With that consciousness (or lack thereof)
ethics and integrity are not considered cost effective.
The political momentum in our land will probably not change until the
average "Joe Consumer" has to deal with brown air, dirty water and whatever
the consequences of global carbon dumping bring us.
