Hi All,
My two cent's worth agrees with Jack West. I almost run my generator
out of gas when I'm charging batteries and I've been using a SW inverter
since they came out. My SW has a serial number of 69 so as all can
guess it has seen quite a few generator run out of gas events. The
same goes for my current inverter, PS2524. I've run the generator
out of gas on this one quite a few times during the winter with no apparent
ill effects.

problem. As much as I don't like to see a system run that way, it
is quite common. I installed one 4024 3 years ago where the usual
mode of operation is to start the genny (3.5KW Honda) in the morning and
leave for work with it still running. This is done 2 to 3 times a
week in winter and once a week in summer. To date no inverter problems.
Other customers with gas gennies seem to run out of gas with no apparent
ill effects. Gas gennies don't hold much fuel and who checks fuel?
When it's out, fill it up.
