Those cheap air conditioner disconnects work fine so far for SDG&E and SCE here in So. CA.   I have had close to 100 accepted through these two utilities.

PG&E would not accept our pullout on the Take Your Bedroom Off the Grid workshop intertie for two reasons: 1, the pullout was integrated with a fuse and they do not allow components that might need user access in the PG&E lockable box; and 2, there was no visible way to tell if the pullout was in on or off position while inserted. With the box locked, there is no way to tell if the pullout is in off or on position or even in the box.
