As to LED lighting, I am curious about them... I have heard them touted as the most efficient lighting available, yet there are some web sites that suggest the highest lumens per watt can be obtained from LPS (low pressure sodium) and Metal Halide style lighting.

Looks like some of the best efficiencies in LEDs are in the 7-15 lumens/watt range... LPS lamps run in the 180 lumens/watt range. Not sure about CF's, but probably way better than 15 lumens/watt that LEDS offer. Why we keep hearing about how efficient LED lighting is remains a mystery to me.

Anyway, assuming LEDS are more efficient than CF's does anyone know how many white LEDs it would take to equal the lumen output of a 5 or 7 watt CF?
