<div dir="auto"><div dir="auto">Yeah, someone sold a bunch of Conext XW+ owners a bunch of Pytes batteries to replace lead acids. I have been dealing with a variety of issues. This particular system has 100kWh of battery capacity with a 10kW PV system that is heavily shaded and poorly oriented. It's never going to charge the battery to 100% without significant generator run time given the base load of the property.</div><div dir="auto"><br></div><div dir="auto">In this case the batteries could not have cut out before the XW reached LBCO. That would have required a manual battery reset or black start. And because it is open loop, it could not have been a communication glitch. </div><div dir="auto"><br></div><div dir="auto">On the SCP, I found them both with device address zero and both set to Master. It really looked like they were both in a factory default state. I don't understand how that happens simultaneously. I'm really curious to see if it happens again and to see if the device names change back to the default, which would clearly indicate they are being reset to factory defaults. I can't imagine anything else on the Xanbus would be writing device names to the inverters. The only other thing I can think of would be something coming from the cloud.</div><div dir="auto"><br></div><div data-smartmail="gmail_signature" dir="auto"><div dir="ltr"><br>Jason Szumlanski<div><span style="color:rgb(51,51,51);font-family:Roboto,RobotoDraft,Helvetica,Arial,sans-serif;font-size:13px">Principal Solar Designer | Florida Solar Design Group</span><br style="color:rgb(51,51,51);font-family:Roboto,RobotoDraft,Helvetica,Arial,sans-serif;font-size:13px"><span style="color:rgb(51,51,51);font-family:Roboto,RobotoDraft,Helvetica,Arial,sans-serif;font-size:13px">NABCEP Certified Solar Professional (PVIP)</span><br style="color:rgb(51,51,51);font-family:Roboto,RobotoDraft,Helvetica,Arial,sans-serif;font-size:13px"><span style="color:rgb(51,51,51);font-family:Roboto,RobotoDraft,Helvetica,Arial,sans-serif;font-size:13px">Florida State Certified Solar Contractor CVC56956</span></div><div><font color="#333333" face="Roboto, RobotoDraft, Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif">Florida Certified Electrical Contractor EC13013208</font></div></div></div><br><div class="gmail_quote gmail_quote_container" dir="auto"><div dir="ltr" class="gmail_attr">On Sat, May 31, 2025, 12:57 PM Dave Angelini Offgrid Solar via RE-wrenches <<a href="mailto:re-wrenches@lists.re-wrenches.org">re-wrenches@lists.re-wrenches.org</a>> wrote:<br></div><blockquote class="gmail_quote" style="margin:0 0 0 .8ex;border-left:1px #ccc solid;padding-left:1ex"><div style="font-size:12pt;font-family:Verdana,Geneva,sans-serif">

XW pro was made to close loop and communicate with the bms. Since there were no faults logged it sounds like the battery cut out before the XW LBCO, which is wrong as you know and this was fixed on XWpro. XW's should not change their master slave set-up unless they were really glitched or one has damaged memory. They should repower as they were set-up. Below is how it should look in set-up.</div>

<div>I have a new service client with dual XW+. When I first went out a couple of weeks ago, the LFP batteries had completely shut down due to low battery voltage. I had to jump start them with a Chargeverter. I discovered that the inverter low battery cutoff was 44 volts, which is lower than the battery BMS cut out. I also found the AGS set to manual off, and I believe the voltage triggers were defaults, but I am not certain.</div>
<div dir="auto"> </div>
<div dir="auto">There is an AGS, SCP, two MPPT 60 150, one MPPT 100 600, and an Insight Home on the Xanbus Network. The owner cannot figure out how to access the Insight Cloud, and I could not access the device on the local network with the default password. Therefore, I am working with the SCP only for settings. </div>
<div dir="auto"> </div>
<div dir="auto">I adjusted the settings on the inverters and AGS and checked all other settings. We tested the generator functionality. Everything seemed great. </div>
<div dir="auto"> </div>
<div dir="auto">Fast forward to this week, and the system had a complete shutdown. I went out to the remote location today and found the inverters in standby. I tried to enable them, and received an F66 error. I dug in and found that they both had the same modbus address 00 and they were both set to split phase master. Everything else appeared to be factory defaults. Low battery cut out was sent to 44 volts again. The AGS had disappeared from the network on the SCP. The batteries were at 100% because the charge controllers were charging the batteries with solar for the last couple of days with no load present. After power cycling the inverters, the AGS reappeared on the SCP. The settings in the AGS were exactly as I had left them last time.</div>
<div dir="auto"> </div>
<div dir="auto">It appears that the inverters went back to factory defaults, but everything else seemed okay.</div>
<div dir="auto"> </div>
<div dir="auto">The only relevant thing in the fault logs was a low battery condition F48 fault that occurred six days ago. Then, 18 hours later, multiple F66 errors (5 or 6) occured over a 2-hour span. It appears this is when the inverters reverted to factory defaults.</div>
<div dir="auto"> </div>
<div dir="auto">I don't work on a lot of Schneider inverters, so I am looking for any insights, no pun intended, that you may have about this behavior. </div>
<div dir="auto"> </div>
<div dir="auto">I changed the names of the inverters from the factory default in the SCP. If the settings do revert to factory defaults again, I'm hoping this will be an indication if the names also revert. </div>
<div dir="auto"> </div>
<div dir="auto">One more piece of information. I seriously doubt that the occupants of the property messed with anything in the SCP. However, I strongly believe that they were flipping breakers, particularly on the solar charge controllers. It's possible that turning off a controller messed up the Xanbus, but I don't see what that would have to do with settings getting changed. </div>
