I love our Milwaukee Force Logic crimper - beautiful, effortless crimps in small spaces We get nice flared crimp lugs of all various sizes from PV Cables Inc. - Bryan over there takes good care of us. After years of doing crimps manually the knuckles on my hands really appreciate the battery powered devices. For stripping the wire I like the sire slitter/stripper like this one available online. These are good at removing insulation without disturbing the strands inside making it easy to slip into a flared lug and even doable if not flared.

One of my other favorite tools is the battery powered Milwaukee hole punch. Here's a simple trick for getting fine-stranded cable into a lug:
Make two very careful radial cuts around the end of the insulation,
one at the intended end of the insulation and a second about halfway
or less toward the cable end. Remove the ring of insulation closest
to the end. Slide the remaining ring to the end of the cable but
don't remove it from the cable. Press the cable end into the lug
opening as far as it will go; the ring of insulation holds the
strands together. Slit the ring and push it the rest of the way into
the lug. Crimp.
the lugs I am using, but even when I VERY carefully strip
