<div>Yes XWpro 6848 is a drop-in  replacement. Exact fit & all connections are the same as way back to 2006 when the "grey box" XW 6048 was sold. You need a connext insight home or facility device to do the initial configuration.</div>

<div>It is a one time need for the insight home device to set the mode for offgrid. There are numerous new settings </div>
<div>that will not work with the old SCP he has, but you do not need them for a replacement.</div>
