<p>Yes, our product is NEMA 6, so is pretty robust once the DC and AC cables are connected. That said, our M215 Installation and Operation Manual states that the microinverters should not be installed in a location that allows for "long term exposure to direct
sunlight." The challenge with north facing locations is that the sun does pass to the north of direct overhead for several hours a day in the summer months. Depending on the amount of exposure during the summer afternoons, this could be problematic. </p>

Just curious, if they are on a north facing wall at your latitude (Edmonton?) they shouldn't ever see any sun or just the tiniest bit. Considering the normal location of micros it seems some wind and rain should be expected whether under a module
or under a north facing eave. Enlighten me.</p>

decorative(?) awnings for a downtown penthouse suite. </div>
<div class="">So far about 3 of the enphase inverters (M215's I believe, would have to double check) have failed and have been replaced and I recently was on the service call where enphase determined that 4 more would need to be replaced as well. </div>
<div class="">Enphase is claiming that the inverters are failing because they are exposed to the elements. </div>
<div class="">We are in the process of designing a cover for them that would provide at least as much protection as a module would. <br class="">
