    <p>MidNite Solar stopped making the skinny OB E-Panels but we still
      make many models of the wide OB E-Panels.</p>
    <p>It still works fine with the OutBack surge arrestor in their AC
      conduit box.</p>

          It has been years since I used Outback's Arrestors (I switched
          to Midnite's so I'm not sure if Outback's design has changed
          since then), but yes that is how it worked on an E-panel. 
          However, I think Midnite has stopped making the Epanel for the
          FX (FXR), although maybe you can find one in stock at a
          supplier.  Might be worth a call to Midnite...<br>
