correct me if I'm wrong but doesn't this new mandatory assignment
to TOU with PG&E start when NEM2.0 starts. I think we can
keep using E1 up to the change...which is soon. Some sites just
don't have good afternoon options here in the Sierras (mountains,
trees, etc) Do we start declining jobs that have excellent SE
facing options? Please enlighten me.

The mandatory
switch to a TOU rate along with NEM 2.0 forces all of us
working with grid tied systems in CA to thoroughly rethink
our game plan! We have been using Energy Toolbase (as Mac
mentioned) to model proposals to accurately estimate
post-solar bills under one of these new rates schedules.
TOU-A in my experience tends to be a little better for folks
in the “normal” monthly consumption range, say below
800-1000 kWh/month. High energy users will probably be
better off going TOU-B. For those with electric vehicles,
EV-A is a really good option. That said, we’re still
wrapping our heads around the best rates and design
strategies. The peak rates on the TOU schedules are getting
later and later, so west facing arrays are definitely a
plus.
