Based on your rhetorical question and many zip tie failures, I try
to run the wiring over the framing so that a zip tie failure doesn't
just leave 10 ft of wiring dangling, I also throw in insulated SS
wire clamps in too. We then just use zips to make it tidy. My
thinking is when the zips fail, it won't look as good, but it won't
be a total hazard either.<br>

Still waiting for a better wire management product......<br>

with no problems here in Hawaii ($4.99 a
tube). I have also heard that black zips or
sealant holds up better in the UV light, and
my field experience seems to validate this.

I've used Lexel before, it's the best
clear caulk I've used. I used it even
to repair cracks on plastic lens on
concentrating modules. It holds its
clarity for a long time, however I
don't know if its approved for asphalt

most part we are using
Chemlink M1 sealant for to
seal our rooftop
penetrations. It hasn’t
let us down yet.</p>

available in several
opaque colors and grey is
the most common. Sometimes
we want a good quality
clear sealant to put
around conduit fittings,
where our conduit enters
buildings, etc. We used
Geocell 2300 in the past
and I don’t have anything
bad to say to it but our
current supplier doesn’t
carry Geocell products.
More recently we’ve tried
Chemlink Clear sealant but
I’ve already seen signs
that it doesn’t hold up
well in the elements – it
seems to peel off the
surface it was installed
on and turn brown
relatively fast.</p>
