<DIV>My recent experience with SMA was $150 for the warranty change out of one
of their string inverters. It was a significant hassle and took months to
receive a check. You have to know that they offer the $150, If you don't
ask, they won't offer it. Whereas Fronius almost insists they pay you $250
for a warranty change out, easy and prompt. SMA used to ship from
Rocklin, CA, now you have to wait for it to come from Colorado.</DIV>

<DIV>I've never had a problem with a grid-tied inverter products here in the
states, getting some compensation for warranty work. As far as off-grid,
I think only SMA will compensate you for warranty work here. I think
$250/inverter is typical for string inverters, and I'm not sure with
microinverters. The compensation is not really enough to cover the time,
but at least its something.</DIV>
