A small battery, a 30A charge controller, and 2 x 80W panels gave them all the components in an easy to assemble system. We also made two load items, a few computer fans mounted on a piece of rail and a DC water pump with MC4 connectors to improvise a fountain.<o:p></o:p></p><div><p class=MsoNormal>We also made up a 200W inverter with MC4 connectors so they could plug in a table light.<o:p></o:p></p></div><div><p class=MsoNormal>The MC4 connectors made sure the polarity was correct and that they could connect the components but not disconnect them.<o:p></o:p></p></div><div><p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p></div><div><p class=MsoNormal>One of the kids was so quick on the uptake that he came by our warehouse with a bunch of younger kids, asked for the system, and proceeded to teach the others how to build a solar system.
