Many old-timers have long known that Delta lightning arrestors
don't actually work to address most surges. They were first used
in a product package by Ananda Power Technologies (APT), who made
the first listed powercenters, and thus became the de facto
standard for including basic surge protection in a system. We used
them for years in our off grid systems, as an inexpensive way to
address the issue when nothing else in the same low price range
was available. Now that Midnite makes a better replacement at not
much higher cost, the Deltas are pretty much history for our
applications.<br>
