      Kent's and Maverick's advice is right on. I would challenge your
      approach of excluding the remote. The Magnum remote is much easier
      to use (and thus harder to mess up) than Outback's traditional
      Mate, and can function adequately as a whole system monitor, in
      place of the third-party TriMetric. And customers are likely to
      learn quickly if their fooling around costs them a non-warranty
      service call, or worse, a new set of batteries.<br>

        From the MS-PAE manual: "The settings once programmed are saved
        in the <b>remote’s</b> nonvolatile memory and are preserved
        until changed - even if DC power to the inverter is lost (as
        long as the ME-RC remote is connected)." So, if the default
        settings aren't adequate, your customer's will need a remote.
        They need it to equalize the batteries anyway. And since every
        battery system should have a battery monitor, there may as well
        be a remote for the purpose of using the Magnum BMK.<br>

              recently started stocking the Magnum Energy inverters and
              when we had a few installations requiring some adjustments
              to the default settings we were advised to order the
              Magnum Energy Remote Control.  However, we then found out
              that this is a stripped down control and we needed to
              order the “Advanced” version of this control. <o:p></o:p></span></p>
