having this done on an order of batteries being shipped to <st1:place w:st="on">Africa</st1:place>
about ten years ago. They had to be special ordered without electrolyte (cost
more for this - an extra step for the manufacturer as it was explained to
me) and also had to be dried out and sealed (as I remember) so that
there would be no corrosion inside the cell. I think that the shelf life was a
year or less before they needed to be filled with electrolyte.</span></font><o:p></o:p></p>

Surrette batteries with no electrolyte as a back up set of batteries......is
there any time period that you would expect these batteries to remain
healthy....do they start losing life after some time?  how long can you
store batteries with no electrolyte and still expect them to remain in good
condition when you want to begin using them?<br>
