Thank you all for the feedback from wild to mild it's all good! I've talked to ton's of battery manufacturers and read all of my own library's data. It is no surprise to see claims of freezing points all over the map for a fully charged battery. However, the highest number I saw anywhere was -51F. I actually got my best input by calling an Interstate distributor in Ankorage, these guys deal with the true realities everyday. Bottom line is a FULLY charged cell will not freeze anywhere on this mild planet. I'm opting for relaibility and K.I.S.S., putting the energy into keeping the battery full and not risk battery warming loads or other diversions depleting the SOC. I'm most comfortable with this direction as we all have horror stories about control failures and with no one around for months it is just to scary in my mind.
