The above is Zomeworks recommended practice for the big ones. In many areas the ability to go five feet deep is imposible. I have had an engineered footing done for a tracker with 12 kc120s. The design called for a 3 x 3 x3 hole filled with concrete. In the mountain area I have done many and never had one go over and we have some winds that get to 80 mph gusts. This approach relys on the mass of the crete rather than the depth but gets the job done.
