I had a similar experience with two different inspectors on the same job. The first one said that he didn't like the product I used to run overhead AC power (the same stuff PG&E uses), then after changing it to meet "his" protocall, another inspector came out and could have cared less one way or the other. I had to drag him around to each part of the system to show him it's function. But he had a good time viviting with the owner of the system, and the view they have! No conformity here I'd say. But inspectors are the last word, so I have to live with it.
