Yes, but many solar thermal systems installed back then around here (where it freezes in the winter), ended up with potable water pipes in the attic which promptly froze, then flooded the attic when they thawed... this soaked the insulation and drywall and many folks ended up with ceilings on the floor... no, probably not an electrocution hazard... but a BIG problem nevertheless.
