Got an offline post from Windy that sounds like my
post on the VFD's implied this system uses one ( Windy??.
Correct??)
No it did not.
On the question of how the Helios solar plane flies
at night without allot of batteries. It will use a reversible fuel cell where
water is turned into hydrogen and oxygen (oxygen will also be stored because of
the high altitudes that preclude using atmospheric 02) during the day and used
in the fuel cell at night with the water returned to be converted again the next
day. If there is anything research money should be spent on in large quantities
it is this process. Lead acid batteries will then go the way of the internal
combustion engine and steam locomotives.. Into museums where they
belong.
