Hey Allen thanks for your input re: "solar bozos" As with any
business there ARE bozos out there, although I don't think that they
would spend the time to respond to this list.... perhaps look to find a
"easier" way but surly not to participate.
Having become a certified auto truck tech many years
ago w/ "ASE" (automotive service excellence) long
before the requirements of most shops now to be employed,I felt that this
recognition would only improve my standings and reputation in that field
.Now this has become the norm.
We as solar installers have the chance to become certified
installers as I'm in contact w/ Mike Fitzgerald of @ispq.org who is
working presently on a certification program. As yet things are not
finial and he IS OPEN to suggestions
from those of us in the field! (what a concept!)
Remember that our suppliers as well as INFORMED potential customers
WILL seek qualified /certified installers and those that don't will soon
realize that you DO get what you pay for! It is up to us the installers
in the field and our support staff to be PROUD and to let our
professionalism show some other place than those sound installs far away
from the non supportive news media.
We are professionals and we form a group that is a FORCE! This is
something that needs to be followed up with vigor. We owe it to our selfs
to get a wage that is competitive with the "Maytag repair man"
most of us have trained in the field and have spent many untold
hours of repairing what "BOZOS" have wrought on the
uninformed public.
As I'm in contact w/ Mike and when I do receive a copy of the
certification test w/ his permission any one that would like to see this
let me know and I'll forward it.
The time is NOW lets become the FORCE, without all of us there wouldn't
be those companies that profit from our hard professional work!
Would some one check the "IPP" web site I couldn't find the
cost of membership when I down loaded the form. Thanks
And, finally, My Gawd! Don't ever consider yourself some
"Solar Bozo."
Bozos don't dream, think, work and create. Nor do they not have a
sense
of business ethics.
Bozos don't have much of a purpose. You do and that's why it's
important to influence manufacturers - so they do the same in their own
best interest if for no other corporate reason.
