Greetings Wrenches,

Not only does it get confusing all the different issues with the Trace SW, but we also have a couple Kurts entering into the conversation.  Good thing I'm not using my Yahoo address (asolarguy@yahoo,com) or things could get real confusing.

I'd like to get off the SW discussion for a minute here....

I have a number of remote systems that are also remote from good radio stations.  I often opt for a DC stereo, as a radio is often on all day when inverter could be getting a lot of zzzz's (not to mention the buzzzzz's if ac and powered with mod. square wave).  Can any of you recommend a really good 12VDC radio receiver capable of pulling in fringe FM reception (external antenna input a must).  I have had good luck with some car stereos (Bluckplunt, spelt way wrong, can really pull em in) but if client wants to record radio shows, can't do.  Most boom-boxes are junk, and if you haven't noticed, almost all of them no longer use 8 dry-cells nor the "wall-wart" transformer and DC power input.  Those that used to have three way power and car adapter are hard to find these days.  One final thought...  one client wants Short Wave as well (I also listen to some short wave).

There must be some really cool super radio, probably made in Germany or some such place that is considered to be the best and will fit the above description??  Any thoughts?
