Hi wrenches: I just heard something today about Trace supposedly coming out with a new version chip thats purpose is to rectify a problem where the utilities aren't happy with the sw selling back at a voltage thats a few volts over  some amount the utility deems safe and this new chip was supposed to limit that but ends up disconnecting the inverter instead of limiting it.Does this sound familiar to anyone? I'm concerned because I'm getting ready to do a grid intertie for a guy that bought the gear from Real Goods to do a system that would allow him to sell back his surplus and run his entire house in the event of a blackout. They screwed up and sold him a singlesw5548  which wont handle all his 220v loads. He thought  he had everthing he needed, wrong! A T-former doesnt have enough capacity so we're getting him a second inverter to stack but my concern is the other one was purchased almost a year ago and I wonder if Trace slipped in a revision since then? I also! wonder if PG&E is on of the utilities that has a problem with that higher voltage sellback? Carl Reuter.
