What experience have you had with warranty coverage for Discover batteries?
I am helping out a new homeowner with a bad battery (one low cell). They
purchased the system with the home, and the original installer is long
gone. We don't know where the battery was purchased. It sounds like
Discover is going to require a boatload of diagnostics (this is on a remote
island, but no boat pun intended). And the number 1 item on their
checklist, in bold letters, is proof of purchase.

I thought I was doing great by downloading the Link II software and doing a
data dump on the bank of batteries, but I found out when customer support
later replied that I need to use different software, which requires another
boat ride and hours of service fees. Even if I could provide proof of
purchase, there is no guarantee this would be warrantied. That puts the
owner in a bad spot.

I'm not impressed with Discover's warranty procedure or policy so far. We
will see where it goes...

The only good thing that happened today is the homeowner had a mini-USB
cable. That was a bit of a miracle.
