[RE-wrenches] Schneider XWpro

Hi Jay,

I have seen this exact thing before, a few times. It was a defective unit out of the box. Voltage is OK. But can’t carry loads. Will it power a basic load like 100W incandescent light bulb at all? Would be curious the build date. I think it was the 2020/2021 units that we saw upwards of 50% DOA out of the box.

The best advice you can give the client is to abandon the XWPro. It hurts me to say that after 100’s of XW installs. There is way better, simpler, reliable tech today with tech support that is responsive. Not to mention how expensive it gets adding MPPT controllers.

The 2.04 software version is absolute garbage and should have resulted in the loss of CSA/UL etc certifications. Schneider knows all about it, they just don’t care. The bar code label on the box will show what FW it shipped with. If the Insight portal won’t update the firmware you can use the USB dongle to force it.

Kevin

Thx I’ll pass that along. Offgrid as far as I know

However he wasn’t able to load any firmware, not sure why.

Problem remains.
How is the inverter making volts and not allowing it to power anything? I’m not there so I am only going with what was told. I mean is this even possible?

He had programmed the inverter via the insite. I don’t know what settings he did. I told him to do a factory reset but he had already left.

It’s possible that’s it’s user error

Jay off or on grid?
If off then use the original firmware. You said it was new if off grid do not update FW. If on grid then up date firmware, make sure "region Code" is correct then reset ALL to factory defaults. Then see if that addresses it.
Access is Admin PW is XWproGridCode
Grid code password.
XWproGridCodes
Off grid code 1547- 2003

Have a question

Someone contacted me about trying to set up a new XWpro. Insight home no other devices.

Inverter is on, led lights say it’s working there is 120/240v but it won’t power any loads.

I told him to make sure they had both updated firmware but he ran into trouble

Question
Would incorrect firmware create that situation? I mean it’s weird it’s got volts but won’t do watts.

But XW/pros are not my expertise

Thx
Jay
