Have you tried the double stripping insulation method?

Cut the insulation needed and remove minus 1/4"
Then cut a 1/4” wide piece so it will slide on the copper.  slide it to the end or with just a small mount of copper sticking out and that should allow the wire to slide into the fitting.    Then push the 1/4” part back so it slides all the way and cut it off when easy.  

I sure hate when companies can’t figure out metric from SAE sizes.  Doesn’t provide a lot of confidence.
