[RE-wrenches] Snow Guard Options

I second Dana's assessment. The idea is to allow the snow to remove itself
if possible.
We always mount the top row as close to the peak as possible to prevent
snow build up above. In the old days, when arrays were smaller, I'd
recommend a good coat of RainX every year as it does help snow slide
easier, but roof mounted large arrays can be difficult, at least.
  I've found that snow held beneath the bottom row of modules can build up
and prevent module snow from sliding off, often refreezing as even harder
to remove ice.
   The long and short, to me, is that snow removal is a real pita and why
we've got so many ground mounted arrays in Maine....
