[RE-wrenches] Sol-Ark battery calibration

Hello Dave,

Please continue working with Sol-Ark support on this issue. While inverter calibration is possible with some of our inverters, it requires prior approval from management. This step is only taken when we are absolutely certain the issue originates from the inverter itself, once this has been determined a support member who has been trained and has access to make these changes should be able to calibrate the inverter for you. Due to the potential risks involved and the confidential nature of the calibration process, we do not share these steps externally.

I would say this:

Few bible days ago, I worked in Semiconductor Manufacturing Equipment Service. We would send our Fluke DVMs, recorders and other measuring tools off to a lab to get calibrated so when we measured something, we knew what we were measuring. I’m not saying your DVM is out of calibration, it seems like the inverter’s DVM is the issue.

Having said that, I assume that if an inverter is measuring something like volts or amps (usually via a shunt therefore Volts), it also needs to be calibrated.

Now, the question is can a common person like you or me be allowed to edit those values on the Sol-Ark.

Outback has their Vbat cal page for charge controllers and trim pots for the FNDC and Schneider has their XW Config Tool with calibration procedures.

I think Sol-Ark will send a motherboard to install on the old Master???

I suggest keep calling them and reference your ticket # and see if you can get a resolution.

I would also measure along the entire path of both inverter battery cables, especially at high load looking for any voltage drops along the way. You might find a loose bolt or wonky lug crimp. See if you can both sides of the inverter DC breaker.

Does anyone know whether you can calibrate the battery voltage on Sol-Ark inverters? I am on site with two 12k-p inverters. My meter agrees with one of them, and the other inverter (the master) is displaying 0.6v lower than both my meter and the other inverter.

I have gone through two tech support people who are not being much help.

There are lead acid batteries here.
