Aloha All,
I am messing around with a system in our shop just 'cause I wanted to mess
around with AC coupled systems at my leisure. This setup is completely
off-grid. I have an autoformer between the SB and the SI.
I am able to make changes to the parameters on the SB with an old Webbox
and a RS485 Piggyback card.
The manuals I found online are showing a slightly different set of
parameters than what I am seeing in real life. For instance, there is no
"country standard" parameter on the SB. And when I make the recommended
changes to the parameters that do match up with the manuals, the value
ranges on the SB are much tighter so it does not let me enter negative
numbers as the manuals are wanting me to set for frequency shifting to work
well. I am not in the mood to torch the three Discover 7.4s attached to the
SI6048.
Makes me think there is a firmware update but SMA's website returned
nothing. It is currently running BFR 2.72 and SRR 2.72. The SB is from 2009.
Any thoughts on an old (but newer) firmware? Is it even possible to update
the firmware on this dinosaur?
While I am at it, can any one explain the difference between "PvOnly" and
"Gen" for setting 231.05 ExtSrc on the SI6048? The manual is lacking
reassuring details.
Thanks for entertaining my sadomasochism.
Aloha,
Lou Russo
