This is a smart IoT device

that you can plug into a utility grid-only outlet and it will alert you
(through the separately purchased hub) in a variety of ways when the power
goes out. You could even program it to turn on a light or an alarm buzzer
using a smart relay and program the logic on the phone app. Once you
have the hub and phone app installed there are a ton of other "smart"
sensors and devices that work with the system. My off-grid home has
gotten a lot smarter in the past couple of years!
