Hi Kris - We use C-taps all the time - if you search for c-tap connector
you'll see plenty of results with Burndy being a big player in the market.
Depending on your wire sizing, you might be able to use the thin wall
variant which requires a smaller tool and overall are lower cost. If you
need to tap #4 on up, you'll probably need a thick wall tap and larger
tool. For the larger tool, we have a Greenlee model
<https://www.electricianshop.com/products/greenlee-k425bg-manual-crimping-tool-with-d3-and-bg-die-grooves?variant=15441630339&country=US¤cy=USD&utm_medium=product_sync&utm_source=google&utm_content=sag_organic&utm_campaign=sag_organic&gad_source=1&gclid=CjwKCAiAn9a9BhBtEiwAbKg6fvXzWYM5xqAs2f3x_qcf49ij18u_bMKKwKM2zH6SqxU0UIIDU4qsnBoCaxcQAvD_BwE>
that has worked well. When you buy the C-tap you should be able to find the
proper size tool die. For example, see page C-176 and C-177:
https://hubbellcdn.com/ohwassets/HCE/burndy/catalogs/2020/Section%20C_Compression_2020%20BURNDY%20Master.pdf
Note that for thin walled taps (page C-176) you can buy a tool with a
rotating die, so one tool will do most sizes.
Best, August
