Hi William -
I know you're not a fan of Tesla, you so you might want to check out
FranklinWH (which is basically like a supercharged Powerwall 2 system):
https://www.franklinwh.com/products/apower2-home-battery-backup/
or Enphase:
https://enphase.com/store/storage/gen3/iq-battery-5p?srsltid=AfmBOoojCQ36cLiuTk7Egp47myyWpz834SsfiKw3fA_hp3B2__lhSbc0
Enphase would require you to have microinverters for your PV whereas
Franklin should be able to AC-couple to your existing PV inverter. Enphase
is releasing their IQ Meter Collar adapter in the coming months:
https://enphase.com/download/iq-meter-collar-data-sheet?srsltid=AfmBOopomsOkyikV7VatWtysBPHBp4UqW-uh_jSaZJx7HQxP0KgZwLGo
This meter collar product is a total game changer - Tesla has had a meter
collar adapter for the last year or more and it has probably reduced our
labor by about half to provide whole-home backup. I understand that
FranklinWh expects to have a meter collar coming in Q2 of this year.
Best,
August
