Noted.

Here is a teaser:

Before NEM 3.0, as a PG&E customer, I was credited at retail rates for
energy export. That value ranged between $0.388 to $0.486 per kWh (yes,
these are the electrical rates in California). With NEM 3.0 I am credited
at less than $0.01 per kWh.

On-line articles predicted NEM3.0 would lower export compensation to about
25% of previous rates but the reality is much more stark. I am being
compensated at 2.5% of what I previously received.

Also the previous NEM 1.0 and 2.0 allowed for an annual true-up. The new
plan requires settling monthly.

This issue concerns everyone that sells and installs grid-connected solar
because the ripple effect will be catastrophic. Your utility will want to
use this as a model. This will kill the grid-connected solar market in
California. If the solar market dies in California the economy of scale
that keeps this industry going will decrease significantly.

I think anyone on this list should be interested in this trend.

Friends:

I am evaluating my first few bills from PG&E now that I am on the new
billing program called NEM3.0. I am finding out some disturbing
information. Does anyone on this list desire to start a discussion on the
PG&E NEM3.0? Does anyone think we should keep that discussion on this
list-serve?
