Rumor has it “Somebody “ farmed out manufacturer of OB components to umm, Off Shore outfits.. but to guard against piracy, they didn’t give them the codes.. we’ve been seeing OB knock off devices (with problems very similar to those you describe) for a few years now.. watch for Squirrley operation right out of the box, previously registered SR # and SR# and MAC address that doesn’t match.. etc..
